Welcome.

For years, I kept a blog: https://north2thefuture.wordpress.com. I kept a blog from a move to Alaska to an embed in Afghanistan to a visiting professor gig at Allegheny College in Pennsylvania to coverage of the Ebola outbreak in Liberia to the end of 2017,

I was unable to recover the login to the blog and WordPress was no help whatsoever in granting me access. So I stopped writing. Over the past three years, my friends have encouraged me to return to writing, to renew my blog. I have continued to write, in my head, and, sporadically in a journal.

It took me some time to decide on the structure and purpose of the site. I intend it to be an adventure, a journey, an exploration.

Hence the boots on the cover. They serve as a welcome to the blog and my next adventures.

The home page is a threshold, a place where you cross over. You enter into a home, embark on an adventure, leave the shore for the water.
